Catalans Dragons Announce Significant Commercial Partners
THURSDAY - 5th January 2006
The Catalans Dragons are pleased to announce the signage of five kit sponsors for their inaugural season in the engage Super League.
The club sponsors are as follows:
Mairie de Perpignan
Conseil Général des Pyrénées Orientales
Region Langedoc Roussillon
ARX
Immo Média
This is an exciting step forward for the club who are also currently in discussions for a major sponsors and rear of jersey sponsor.
Club CEO Grant Mayer said: “This is a very important day for the club as we edge closer to our debut season in Super League. These companies have shown wonderful support for not only the Catalans Dragons but for Rugby League in France.
"There is a real buzz around the club at the moment and the announcement of these sponsors adds to the enthusiasm for the game in the Catalan Region. With our debut game against Wigan just five weeks away, the club continues to build a strong stable of commercial partners and support amongst the local community.
"We welcome these companies to the Catalans Dragons family and look forward to announcing additional partners prior to our first home game.”
Meanwhile, caretaker coaches Matt Adamson and Paul Donkin took training when the players reported back for pre-season training this week while the club continue the search for a successor to Steve Deakin.
The only absentee is star signing Stacey Jones, the New Zealand Test scrum-half who was given permission to delay his arrival until Monday because of a family wedding.
The Dragons open their campaign against Wigan at the Aime Giral Stadium in Perpignan on Saturday, February 11.
They have arranged seven matches so far at the home of Perpignan’s rugby union club, with the rest provisionally arranged for Figueres and Narbonne, but the club are hoping to play further matches at Aime Giral.
“There are issues of wear and tear on the pitch but we’re still talking to the rugby union club,” added Mayor.
